Is Your Search Engine Marketing Campaign Benefiting?
There is no doubt about it: we are living through unprecedented times. No one could have expected the many disparities that our families, friends, and businesses have had to face this year. While this year has had many drawbacks, we have also seen many positives. We have been able to spend more time with family, we have adopted flexible mindsets, and we have learned how to manage our businesses remotely for the betterment of our employees and customers.
In response to the setbacks that many businesses are faced with, and the hard work that has been put into adapting them to our “new normal,” Google Ads is rolling out to some qualified advertisers a Google Ads COVID-19 Relief credit. This credit is designed to help small and medium-sized businesses stay in touch with their customers by supporting their search engine marketing campaigns and in an effort to reduce risks of closure or declining sales.
What Does This Mean for Your Business?
If you own a small or medium-sized business and you ran a Google Ads campaign for at least ten of the 12 months in 2019, or at the beginning of 2020, you could be eligible for a Google Ads COVID-19 Relief credit. Google is determining how much of a credit to give businesses based on their size and Google Ads use or budget. They will be granting small and medium-sized businesses up to a $1,000 maximum credit.
How Can Your Business Get This Credit?
Google is using their team of consultants to reference which advertisers are small or medium-sized businesses so that they can provide direct support. Unfortunately, Google is going through this relief process completely in-house so there is no way for businesses to directly apply for this assistance. Instead, you may notice that a Google Ads COVID-19 Relief credit is automatically applied to your account. Your Google Ads consultant will also likely send you an email notifying you of the credit.
How Can Your Business Take Advantage of This Opportunity?
Google Ads is only offering Google Ads COVID-19 Relief credit for businesses through December 2020. For more information visit Google's Coronavirus (COVID-19) Resources and Updates.
