Image Isn't Everything, But It Is Important For Marketing

Think about how much time and effort you put into your own looks. Hair, clothes, make-up, nails, shoes, and even wearing a smile all have a part in making yourself look the way you want to. Now ask yourself why you take the effort to wear the right outfit, or fix your hair. It doesn't change who you are. But it plays an important role. Just think of how well an important meeting would go if you showed up without taking a shower, and in ripped jeans.…

Social Media Is A Good Addition

The hottest buzzword in Marketing is social media. Everyone that is involved in marketing is talking about it, and trying to get their heads around what it is and how to use it to their advantage. What I think many companies are doing is forgetting to ask themselves if they should be doing social media. The fact is that social media works, but only when done properly. And what’s more important is that it is not a replacement for other media. …

Converting Web Traffic

I am amazed at how many companies miss basic marketing principals when they create a website. It seems like they get so focused on SEO, and on the technical side of the internet that that they forget the ultimate goal of their website.
Email Rules

I was recently the victim of an e-blast gone horribly wrong. The company, which I will not name, sent out a nice looking e-mail. Unfortunately they included the whole distribution list in the address line. What this did is caused any reply to the e-mail to be sent to the whole list that received the initial e-blast. I received tons of complaints from people asking what was going on and requesting to be removed from the list. Every person that responded sent out another blast to everyone on the list again. You can imagine the chaos this caused. Add this to your list for reasons to use a reliable mass e-mail system.…

Analyzing your landing page

When visitors get to your landing page (most likely home page) it is important to have your logo or business name in the top left so visitors know that they are at the right place. People will naturally go through your website in a "Z" fashion, starting in the top left (with your logo) and ending in the bottom right. Horizontal bars in the middle of the page should be avoided as they disrupt the flow. It is imperative for your call to action to be in the bottom right, as the last thing that your visitors see. …

What is twitter? How can Twitter help my business?

Twitter is a 3 year old, social networking website that allows you to stay connected with family, friends, co-workers and colleagues with "tweeting".
